Lili of the Valley Blog Challenge - "Thank you"

This week I have manage to get myself organised and enter the Lilli of the Valley Challenge. I absolutely love their stamps and have used The Little Things stamp which is adorable, it can be used for anniversary, thank you's or just blank card. I added some Marianne die cuts to the top and a bunch of paper flowers at the top of the stamped image.

For the sentiment I used Whimsy magical mini letter seals and cut out using my nestabilities. The stamped image was coloured and finished off with distress inks around the edge.

Happy Sunday!

Back to School

We have had a fairly chilled week this week, Isobel has had her first couple of sleepovers which have resulted in late nights and a grumpy look for the last half of the week! I also decided to brave the school shoe shopping which actually managed to be fairly painless, we only tried on 3 pairs of shoes! She was very excited as the pair we decided on were Lelli Kelli's which come with this super duper amazing make up set, those marketing people are very clever aren't they!!

This week I received my Little Darlings stamps which I have already used, I love them! On this card I have used Little Darlings First Bell Stamp which is soooo cute! I coloured her and cut her out using nestabilities.
I used distress ink pads to colour around the edge.

I used a butterfly sentiment "Love & Laughter" which has been coloured with distress inks and a few paper flowers on the edges to finish off the card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Happy Sunday!

Time Flies!

Happy Sunday evening to you! Time really seems to be flying at the moment, The week goes by so quickly whilst the children are at home and then when I finally think I have 5 minutes to chat I end up doing my chores! Still I have managed to get them all done this evening so I am up to date....finally.
We have been enjoying a couple of days celebrations for John birthday which is tomorrow. We went out for a lovely Indian meal last night which some close friends which was very enjoyable! I was hoping to get some of my new stamps put to good use today but we ended up going to the local pub for our roast and taking Isobel off to her horse riding lesson, which she seems to be really enjoying!
I do have a card to show you though which I hope you like....I decided to use the love bug Magnolias for an anniversary card for my sister in law. I used my nestabilities for the background and so old ribbon I have in my ribbon box, which was probably from my local craft shop, they do fabulous ribbons!

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps collection. I added a few gems to finish off the card.

I took a trip to Hobbycraft on Saturday to see if I can find some new paper and they had a sale on a couple of their collections (which was a bad thing), I ended up spending more than I should but it make me happy! :-)

Random Winner!

I am so excited, I won my first ever challenge, I know it's random but I am so pleased! I hope everyone liked looking at my Christmas theme card, I have managed to make a couple more this week, which I will try and put on here soon.
So....summer is here, although the weather can't decide what it's doing, one minute it hot and stuffy the next I need my jumper! The kids have been off school for 3 whole days.....only 28 more to go! We have done a few things already but I am slightly concerned with the lack of events I have planned this summer, we aren't heading off for a holiday but we have a couple of days in Somerset at the end of the month which seems like a lifetime away at the moment.
Isobel was out today so I did manage to get the creative flow going and made this card. I used my ProMarkers for the colouring, as always and I used my fabulous card from first editions paper pack - Spring Feast. I used Nestabilities for the Gorjus Stamp image to be placed on using 3D foam pads. I added some sparkle for the shoes and cute heart in her hair. I finished off th card with some lovely paper flowers and Whimsy Sentiment Stamp.

I am entering this design in to the following challenges this week:

I have mainly been making the tea, lunches and taking the green waste to the recycling centre! So I thought it appropriate to use my gardening tilda To make a "Special Friend" card...

I coloured the image with my ProMarkers, I embossed the green card with a sizzix flower style (the name, I can not remember, will have the check that!) The stamps are Whimsy sentiment stamps and I used the Marianne Design create die "Swirls".

Naming Day Celebrations

This weekend has been a busy one.....we spent Saturday having a gardening party! This meant inviting my parents over to help sort out our back garden! The beds were looking a little worn, we still have leaves in the beds which has been there since the autumn (I am not a keen gardener!) but even I was feeling it was about time to sort them out! So two trips to the recycling centre later we managed to get rid of all the yucky stuff in the garden and planted some plants, shrubs and put up some trellis and we are almost done! Still a few more things to finish off but a well spent Saturday! Now we just have some maintenance to complete in the house (my husband is fab with computers but useless with DIY, he won't mind me saying!) So I call upon my Dad to save the day! Hopefully the house will have all those things you live with for years sorted soon!
We spent our Sunday celebrating our Niece's first birthday and naming day.....the kids enjoyed the bouncy castle and party food whilst the adults enjoyed the BBQ and drinks! We had a lovely day and Maddie was looking very cute in her beautiful dress and seems t love every minute of the attention is was getting! So back to the normal week now, with chores and school runs but I did manage to order some new stamps and ProMarkers today! I shall show you more when they arrive!

Today I have made a wedding card, as it is the season......I stuck with my Magnolia wedding stamp and coloured it with my ProMarkers, in case you don't already know I loooove this stamp! I used paper from the first edition paper pack - spring feast.

I used my Whimsy stamp maintenance again, I can't get away from it, it seems to go with every card I make at the moment! I then added some lace trim, gems and three little flowers at the bottom.

I am hoping to add some videos of my colouring onto the blog soon so hopefully over the next week I will have mastered the videoing and then be able to add them.

Birthday instead of Wedding!!

I  spent this morning sorting out my craft boxes and came across my die cutters, which I haven't used in a while. I decided to have a go at making a birthday card using an elephant die cut I bought a while ago. A fabulous crafter/artist, Jane Allen made me a topper with this elephant and I loved it so much! I have made my own design which I hopes gives the elephant credit!

I used basic grey "marjolaine" paper pack and first editions paper pack "Up and Away" for the backing paper. The elephant is coloured using distress inks. I used my whimsy stamp birthday sentiments (I love those stamps!!)

I love this card, it was nice to do something I haven't done in a while......hopefully I will get back to my promarker colouring tomorrow!!

I have returned!

I feel like I have been away for so long - John and I took a trip to Spain to visit friends how have set up a restaurant there. It was a lovely week and the food at the new restaurant is AMAZING....although we are biased as Alan is a good friend of John's but we always knew he was a fantastic chef! I would definitely recommend a visit if you are near Moraira...the restaurant is called Ca Pepe (www.ca-pepe.com).

Well since that trip I have been spending a lot of time lying on the sofa or my comfy bed and We found out that we are expecting our third child (Yes, really!), our plan was to stick at two but I guess life sometimes knows better!! I suffer badly with the morning/night/24 hour sickness so I haven't been doing a thing since the beginning of March.

I am now feeling a bit better and (touch wood) on the way to being my normal self. I am hoping to get started on some new designs for my cards next week as the website is getting a bit of a make over...hopefully I will post next week with some new cards!

Sunday 13 February 2011

Scrapbook Galore!!

Evening......I had one of those busy but not very productive days today! I spent most of my time ironing and cleaning (when I say productive I mean creative!) Although I did manage a moment of photo book making when the kids were eating their dinner! Yes, I really do take every moment I can get!! I made a photo book for "Grandma" and "Grandad" for a lady who seems to really like my books so hopefully she will like these. I am waiting for them to dry at the moment so will post a picture up of them tomorrow.
I hope to get them on the website next week!! Fingers crossed I get more time than today!

The Crafty Cow

One of my local crafts shops The Crafty Cow is closing at the end of January, this is such a shame as it is a fabulous little craft shop, which always has what you are looking for. They are doing 25% off until they close so take a look at the website, www.thecraftycow.co.uk or you can visit them if you live close to Farnham. They will still be online after January so all is not lost....

New Photo Books

Happy New Year to you.......Now the festive season is over I have been putting my spare time to good use by making photo books. I make them to order so any name etc can be done, although no more than 8 letters at a time! I hope to put them on the website soon so orders can be taken there.

Hope you like them......
